Betty J. Fortenberry Thomas, 69, an educator and a resident of Walker, departed this life Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Ochsner Medical Center, Baton Rouge. Visitation at MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home, 7803 Florida Blvd., Denham Springs from 2 pm to 8 pm Wednesday, July 13. Religious service at St. Mark Baptist Church, 13590 Dunn St., Walker at 11 am Thursday. Conducted by Rev. Edgar L. Thomas. Interment in the church cemetery.
