Obituary

Clara Ellis, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

She leaves behind a family who treasured her deeply: her daughter, Wanda; her grandsons, Caleb (Tiffany) and Cameron (Elisa); her great granddaughter, Eleanor; and her sister Anna Lee McAllister; all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Tuten; her mother, Eula Tuten; her husband, John; and her grandson, Connor, all of whom meant so much to her.

She was known for her loving heart, quick wit, and the warmth she shared with everyone around her. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, especially working puzzles, crosswords, and quilting. For many years, she lovingly quilted with friends at Live Oak United Methodist Church, creating not only beautiful quilts but also lasting friendships and cherished memories.

Her hands were rarely still, and every stitch she made reflected the love and care she poured into her family and community. Whether gathered around a puzzle or sharing stories while quilting, she had a way of making people feel welcome, loved, and at home.

Though her family’s hearts are heavy with loss, they find comfort in the memories she leaves behind and the example of kindness, faith, and love she lived every day.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
