Elvet Hughes Walker departed this life on October 11, 2024, at the age of 86. Viewing will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at St. James Baptist Church, 1105 N 44th St., Baton Rouge, La 70802 at 5 pm to 7 pm. Viewing will resume on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 9 am until religious service at 11 am. Rev. Keno Spurlock will be officiating the service. Interment will be in Southern Memorial Gardens.
