Gary Wayne Porter, Sr., 54, a resident of Greensburg, LA departed this life Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 at his home. Visitation at MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home, 87 Paddio Johnson Lane, Greensburg from 6 pm to 9 pm, Monday, Oct. 24. Religious service at Turner Chapel AME Church, 875 Turner Chapel Rd., Greensburg at 11 am Tuesday. Conducted by Rev. Rochelle Brumfield. Interment in Pipkin Chapel Cemetery, Chipola. Survived by his wife, Melva Porter, Greensburg; two sons, Garry Wayne Porter, Jr. and Gavin Ryanell Porter both of Greensburg, two daughters, Precious Ann Robinson of Baton Rouge, LA and La'Kiya Ja'Nae Knighten of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Caston Porter (Cardell) and Eli Porter, Jr. (Carrie) all of Kenner, LA; four sisters, Luebertha Banks (Joseph), Julia Mae Chapman, Lucille Ray (Willie, Sr.) and Linda Gayle Thymes all of Kenner; two sisters in law, Yulanda Wilkins (Xerxes), Fairburn, GA and Karen Topps, Greensburg; four brothers in law, Curtis Jenkins, Sr., Greensburg, Clifton Knox, New Orleans, Tyler Perry, Atlanta and Emmbre Perry (Shalizar), Fairburn; father in law, Emmitt Perry, Sr., Greensburg; nine grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by a son, Craig Davon Porter; his parents, Eli and Sarah Porter; paternal grandparents, Jim and Lucy Porter; maternal grandparents, Harry and Julia Coleman; a brother, Alphonse Porter; a sister, Marie Jenkins and his mother in law, Willie Maxine Perry.
