Iola Matthews

Iola Jackson Matthews, 85, of Greensburg, departed this life Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Grace Health and Rehab Center, Slaughter. Visitation at Jackson Chapel IME Church, 77 Jackson Chapel Rd., Greensburg from 5 pm to 8 pm Friday, Feb. 26. Visitation will resume at the church from 11 am Saturday until religious service at 1 pm. Conducted by Rev. Elijah Harvey. Interment in the church cemetery. Survived by five daughters, Barbara (Nathaniel) Lowe, Greensburg,; Demetric (Freddie) Judson and Vallerie (Kenneth) Judson of Baton Rouge; Patricia Earnest, Bloomfield, NJ and Perdithia (Hulon) Pearre, McKinney, TX; five sons, Charles "Boot" Matthews, Greensburg,; Kenneth (Lorina) Matthews and Gary (Deion) Matthews of LaPlace; Donaray (Joyce) Matthews, Baton Rouge and Onassis (Laurey) Matthews, Novi, MI; 26 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Myrtle Jackson, husband, Charles "Charlie" Matthews, a brother, Alfred "Freddie" Jackson, 11 sisters in law and 12 brothers in law.
