John Henry Walker, 73, of Baton Rouge, departed this life Friday, Jan. 19, 2018 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center Bluebonnet. Visitation at New Zion Baptist Church, 126 East St., Denham Springs from 8 am Friday, Feb. 2 until religious service at 11 am. Conducted by Dr. Leroy Taylor. Interment in Louisiana National Cemetery, Zachary. Survived by his wife, Carrie Shorter Walker; a daughter, Chasidy Hausey, Baton Rouge; two sons, Randall Walker (Rosa), Baton Rouge and Marlon Walker (Cary), North Carolina; four grandchildren, Rainee, Ralaina, Chason and Landon; five sisters, Margie Self, Carolyn Pipes, Verneta Jackson (James), Martina Simmons (Warren) and Gladys Bradley; three brothers, Lawrence Walker (Diane), Eddie Floyd Pipes (Barbara) and Luther Pipes (Doris); nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Arrangements entrusted to MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home, Denham Springs.
