On December 23, 2013, Margaret Elsie "Myme" Perkins Overton died in Greensburg, LA at the age of 80.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charlie Samuel Overton, Sr. Children: Donna Overton, Baton Rouge, LA; Beverly (Lucious) Henderson, Newnan, GA; Cynthia Overton, Austin, TX; Sherri (Mac) Lee, Pine Grove, LA; Charlie Jr. (Carmen) Overton, Greensburg, LA; Carolyn (Steven Sr.) Guillory, Pearland, TX; Rosalind (Louis) Rosenthal, Flower Mound, TX; and Cynthia & Angela Myles, both of Greensburg, LA. Special children: Larry (Shelia) Overton, Kenner, LA and Herman Bowie Jr., Greensburg, LA. Special niece: Esther Hall, Metairie, LA. Fourteen Grandchildren; Four Great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
We would like to extend a special thanks to Gulf South Hospice, Dr. Antonio Edwards and her private sitters (Diatrise, Helen and Kathy) for services rendered.
Visitation at Turner Chapel AME Church, 875 Turner Chapel Rd., Greensburg, Rev. Carolyn Habersham, Pastor, from 5 pm to 8 pm Friday December 27, 2013. Visitation will resume at the church from 1 pm until religious service at 2 pm, Saturday. Presiding Elder Otis S. Lewis, Sr., officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home, Greensburg. 225- 222-4479
