Olevia Johnson James, 81, a resident of Prairieville, departed this life Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017 at
Baton Rouge General Medical Center Bluebonnet. Visitation at St. Luke Baptist Church, 16262 Old Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge from 8 am Saturday, Feb. 25 until religious service at 11 am. Conducted by Rev. Dr. Jonathan Chambers. Interment in Cann Cemetery, Baton Rouge. Survived by her husband, Rayfield James, Sr.; 4 daughters, Linda Teelucksingh, Cheirlyn Johnson (Kyle), Kathy Johnson and Brenda Gibson (Isaac); 5 stepchildren, Sharon James, Clarett Blount, Linette Hankston, Wilbert James and Rayfield James, Jr.; 3 sisters, Barbara Cann, Bertha Hardy and Joyce Self; a brother, Herman Cann; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Arrangements entrusted to MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home, Denham Springs.
