Rachel Lubertha “Bert” Muse Thompson departed this life on August 16, 2026, at the age of 90.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her son, Elverin Muse; daughter, Abigail Thompson-Johnson; four grandchildren, Enjoli M. Williams, Devan Thompson, DeVante Johnson, and DeQuan Johnson; eleven great-grandchildren; one bonus grandson, Durrell Edwards; one sister, Grace Jackson; one brother, Charles Muse, Jr.; one uncle, William Amacker; three godchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Doretha Muse; her son, Felverin Muse; and her sisters, Clara Muse Hawkins and Geraldine Muse Williams.

Viewing will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home, 87 Paddio Johnson Ln., Greensburg, La 70441 at 4 pm to 8 pm. Viewing will resume on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Turner Chapel AME Church, 875 Turner Chapel Rd., Greensburg, La 70441 at 12 noon until the religious service at 1 pm. Presiding Elder Mittie Muse will be officiating the service. Interment will be held in Pipkin Chapel Church Cemetery.
