I have fought a good fight. I have kept the faith. I have finished my course. God has called another one of his soliders home.
Rev. Leroy Williams a great father, uncle, cousin, friend, but most of all a man of God was called home on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 7:40 am. He was 84 years old and the pastor of New Rising Sun Baptist Church on River Road for 38 years. Visitation at New Gideon Baptist Church, 2542 Balis Dr. from 10 am Saturday, February 28, 2015 until religious service at 12:30 pm. Conductd by Elder Leroy Johnson. Interment in Winnfield Memorial Park, Baton Rouge. He is survived by (2) daughters, Debra Foster (Robert) and Faith Williams; (3) sons, Larry Williams (Sandra), Graylin Williams and Mark Williams (Detrinette); (15 )grandchildren, (7) great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, Bernice Christopher, Gloria Taylor and Louise Jackson and (1) brother, Willie Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Smith Williams; parents, Willie and Bella Williams, (3) brothers and (2) sisters.
