2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NRSV
[16] So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. [17] For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure, [18] because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.
Thomas Claude Stewart (affectionately know as "Tommy") has completed his assignment and fulfilled his purpose on this earth. On October 31, 2025, he answered the call of his Heavenly Father to come to his new home with new address of Eternal Life.
Tommy was the son of the late Lillie Mae Poole and Johnny Banks. He was a native of Plaquemine and resided there all his life. He received Christ in early life and attended St. Matthews Baptist under the leadership of the late Rev. Van Smith Sr. He later moved his membership to the Greater St. Mary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Orris Dupuy. On September 21, 2025, rededicated his life to the Lord and became a member of St. Joseph Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Ronald Johnson. Not only did he accept the calling of the disciple, but he answered the calling of becoming a member of Deacon ministry. He was faithful and work diligently until he was called home.
